Iran to prepare report for OPEC on hydrocarbon reserves

Iran will notify the Secretariat of the Organization of Petroleum
Exporting Countries (OPEC) of a rise in its hydrocarbon reserves
toward the end of this year, said Iran’s OPEC representative, Mohammad
Ali Khatibi, Trend reports, with reference to Shana news agency.


Iran’s proven oil reserves have reached 150.31 billion barrels, Oil
Minister Masoud Mir-Kazemi said. According to the BP Statistical
Review of World Energy, Iran’s reserves previously stood at 136.6
billion barrels.


Twelve countries are among the members of OPEC: Algiers, Angola,
Venezuela, Iraq, Iran, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, UAE, Saudi
Arabia and Ecuador.
