The UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is ready to continue
assisting in the development of Armenian agriculture,
secretary-general of the organization Jacques Diouf said at a meeting
with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday.
He arrived in Armenia for the 27th regional conference of FAO for
Europe, ITAR-TASS reports.
Diouf noted the progress Armenia had made overcoming poverty.
The Armenian president gave a high rating to FAO efforts in minimizing
world hunger and its contribution to raising living standards in the
countryside, providing food security, agricultural production and
agricultural development in general.
