Azerbaijan and China sign agreement on technical-economic cooperation

Azerbaijani Premier Artur Rasi-Zade has met with member of the
Permanent Committee of the Chinese Political Bureau, secretary of the
Central Commission of Chinese Communist Party on disciplinary
inspection, XI Gocian, on his visit to Baku. The countries signed an
agreement on technical-economic cooperation, AzerTag reports.


According to the agreement, China will provide Azerbaijan with a free
20 million yuans. The agreement was signed by the Azerbaijani Minister
of Economic Development, Shakhin Mustafayev, and Chinese Deputy
Minister of Comerce, Gao Hichen. Trade turnover in the first quarter
of this year between Azerbaijan and China reached $136.3 million.
Rasi-Zade emphasized that the Azerbaijani economy showed 9.3% economic growth this year. The country achieved its best results in the oil and gas sphere.

The biggest problem in Armenia is the 20 year long
Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.


Xi Gocian recalled that China and Azerbaijan have a long history of
friendship. The two countries were connected by the Silk Road. He also
noted that China supports the territorial unity of Azerbaijan and its
commitment to a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
