Turkey andIran will have a railroad connection through the
Azerbaijani city of Nakhchyvan, the Turkish Minister of Transport and
Communication Binali Yildirim stated at the opening of the new
international terminal of the airport in Iglyr, 1news.az reports,
citing Haberler.com.
The railroad will run between Kars and Nakhchyvan. Then there will be
a branch leading to Iran. The minister called this road a section of
the “modern Silk Road”.
The estimated at $600 million project will connect Turkey,
Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Iran, with Azerbaijani support.
