Trade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan for January-February this year totals $261.6 million, 4 times greater than figures for the same period last year, former Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Boris Klimchuk stated at a press-conference in Baku on April 22nd, AzerTAc reports.
“Export volumes from Azerbaijan to Ukraine in the first two months of this year totaled $180 million, 22 times greater than figures for the same period in 2009”, Klimchuk noted. He emphasized that Azeri light oil makes up the largest export from Azerbaijan.
Klimchuk commended the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic in Ukraine, noting that it integrates well into Ukraine's economy, creating it’s own network of gas stations and opening an office. The ambassador said that Ukraine and Azerbaijan are actively co-operating in the sphere of transport.
The company 'Bogdan' has opened a line of 'Euro-2012' buses, and the Azerbaijan Ministry of Transport has approved their delivery to Azerbaijan.
"I believe these buses are able to match their competition for quality and price”, said Boris Klimchuk, the head of the Volinsk region, where “Bogdan” buses are produced. He expressed his support for the project.
Klimchuk promised to visit Giandju, heading a big delegation on establishing business contacts.
