Anti-US protest in Tehran

Anti-US demonstrations have taken place in Iran in front of the Swiss
embassy, which represents US interests in Iran, RIA Novosti reports,
citing the Iranian information agency Fars.

At the start of April, US President Barack Obama declared that Iran
and North Korea will be excluded from new US obligations on the
limited use of US nuclear arms for breaching non-proliferation
agreements. Iran understood the declaration as a nuclear threat and
sent an official complaint to the UN.

"You, Mr. Obama, due to assurances of friendship to world peoples,
including Iran, became the Nobel (Peace) Prize laureate. However, you
threaten Iran with nuclear arms. You revived the memory of past crimes
of US governments. You know that world nations have the right to
peaceful atomic energy, yet nuclear strikes go against Nobel Peace," a
letter handed in to the embassy said.

The demonstrators also handed the diplomat an "olive leaf" as a symbol
of peace and friendship.
