White House may soften sanctions against Iran

US President Barack Obama's administration insists that Congress
should provide exemptions for sanctions against Iran for companies
based in 'cooperating countries', The Washington Times reports, noting
that this may concern Chinese and Russian interests.


The Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act
in a House-Senate conference committee and is due to be on Obama's
desk by Memorial Day.
