Iran, Syria, Turkey may establish joint news agency

The Iranian president’s advisor for press affairs and the head of the
IRNA information agency Ali Akbar Javanfekr has proposed establishing
a joint Iranian, Turkish, and Syrian news agency, Trend reports.


Javanfekr made the suggestion to the Minister of Information of Syria
Muhsen Bilal yesterday. The Syrian minister welcomed the proposition.
Syria’s chief of state information agency Adnan Mamud and the chief of
television Muin Khaidar were also present at the meeting.


The sides decided to discuss the issue in a trilateral format in
Turkey at a meeting of the OANA. Javanfekr was accompanying the First
Deputy President of Iran Muhammedrzu Rakhimi on a visit to Syria.
