Kazakh, Georgian foreign ministries to cooperate

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze signed a document with
Kazakh Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev on cooperation between the
two states' foreign ministries during a visit to the Kazakh capital of
Astana, VK reports.


The projects the two countries plan to work on include the transit of
oil, gas and grain. There is a route going through the Black Sea port
of Batumi, Georgia, to transport Kazakh oil to world markets.


According to the statistics agency of Kazakhstan, trade turnover in
2009 between Kazakhstan and Georgia was $37.1 million, half the
turnover in 2008.


The sides also discussed the participation of Astana as the chairman
of OSCE in settling the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.


The two countries also discussed plans of cultural cooperation. Kanat
Saudabayev said that he admires the well-known talented ballet dancer
Nino Ananiashvili, wife of the Georgian minister. When the journalists
asked Grigol Vashadze whether she plans to come to Astana, he
answered:


"Kanat Bekmurzayevich proposed a very interesting project. He is the
initiator. But I will not reveal any details yet!"
