Georgia is ready to offer guarantees for Abkhazia

Georgian Minister for Reintegration Timur Yakobashvili reported that
Tbilisi will not renew war with Abkhazia and is ready to sign the
necessary documents with Russia and the world community, Georgia Times
reports.

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze had earlier remarked that
the republic is ready to sign an agreement on non-use of force in
Transcaucasia but only with Russia, without the participation of
Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The agreement of 12th August 2008 included
the clause on non-use of force.

There are no problems in signing the agreement with Russia, but not
with representatives of those regimes and at the price of Georgia’s
sovereignty, Vashadze added.
