Medvedev arrives in Turkey

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev concluded his visit to Syria and
arrived with an official visit to Turkey, RIA Novosti reports.


Russian leader arrived to the airport of Esenbod in Ankara where the
state flags of Russia and Turkey were raised and honorary guards were
drawn up. Medvedev greeted the soldiers in Turkish.


Medvedev met the Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Chairman of the Grand
National Assembly of Turkey Mehmet Ali Sahin and had negotiations with
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan.


The sides plan to sign over 20 bilateral agreements, in particular, the
memorandum on cooperation in constructing and exploiting the nuclear
power plant in Turkey, air traffic, organization of combined
railroad-ferry connection through the ports of Caucasus and Samsun,
cooperation of the two countries’ Interior Ministries, cooperation in
the sphere of education, tourism 2010-2011 and cooperation in the fight
against drug trafficking.


They plan to sing a joint declaration forming the Council on High-Level
Cooperation under the chairmanship of Medvedev and Erdogan. Its first
session, participated by ministers, will take place within the framework
of the visit.
