Georgian parliamentary speaker holds talks with EU envoy

The speaker of the Georgian parliament, David Bakradze, has met the
EU's special envoy to the South Caucasus Peter Samnebi in Tbilisi, The
Georgian Times reports.


According to the parliament's press-service, the sides discussed the
May 30 local elections.


They also discussed the situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia,
Georgian-Russian relations and the prospects of their normalization.
They emphasized the importance of the Geneva negotiations.
Samnebi also met the head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, Grigol
Vashadze. They considered priority trends in cooperation between
Georgia and EU. They also noted the development of ties between
Tbilisi and Brussels.
