Erdogan to make a historic visit to Greece

Ankara considers the visit of the Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan
to Greece an historic one. Erdogan will be the first Turkish Premier to
visit Athens, TRT reports, adding that he is accompanied by 10 ministers
and a large group of businessmen.


Erdogan’s visit is considered to mark a new period in relations between
Turkey and Greece.


The Turkish Premier will take part in various negotiations, including
talks with his Greek counterpart George Papandreou. Erdogan will discuss trade relations and the economic crisis. Turkey managed to cope with the
crisis and will share its experience and recommendations with Greece.


In addition, Athens will hold the first council on high-level cooperation,
aimed at developing relations in all spheres between the countries. The
council will have annual meetings at Prime Ministerial level.


Analysts of both countries agree that Erdogan’s visit will create dramatic
changes in Turkish-Greek relations, Rosbalt reports.
