Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in the USA on a
three-day visit. The first city he will visit is San Francisco in the
state of California, near Silicon Valley, RIA Novosti reports.
Tomorrow he will meet people from the business and scientific sectors
and visit Silicon Valley, which will be the basis of a similar
innovation center in Russia, called Skolkovo.
The president will also visit his compatriots living on the western
seaboard of the USA. On June 24th Medvedev and Obama will hold
bilateral negotiations in Washington. They will have a round table
discussion with the participation of businessmen of both countries.
Then the presidents will visit the US Trade Chamber. Medvedev will
conclude his day in Washington with a meeting with the heads of the
Senate and the House of Representatives.
Within the framework of his visit Medvedev plans to sign an agreement
between a US aircraft manufacturer and Rostekhnologii on medium-range
aircraft purchase. He will also solve the issue of Russian-US
production of the heavy An-124 cargo airplane ‘Ruslan’.
After his visit to the USA Medvedev will travel on to Canada.
