The visit of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to Germany was an
important event in developing relations between Germany and Armenia,
Angela Merkel said, Panorama.am reports.
Merkel gave a positive rating to the reforms in Armenia. She said that
the countries plan to simplify the visa regime and emphasized that
economic aspects play a key role in the countries’ relations.
President Sargsyan noted that they agreed on expanding legal, trade
and economic cooperation. He pointed out that Germany gave great
support to Armenia in realizing social-economic and institutional
reforms. Sargsyan said he informed Merkel about the processes in
Armenia, in particular, normalization of relations with Turkey.
