Ankara was cold toward Armenia halting the ratification of protocols
and normalization of bilateral relations, TRT reports.
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan urgently contacted Foreign
Minister Ahmet Davutoglu before Armenia declared it would halt the
ratification.
The Turkish side will confirm its commitment to Armenian-Turkish
protocols Erdogan said later.
The Turkish premier declared that regardless of Armenia's decision,
Turkey is devoted to the Armenian-Turkish protocols.
On October 10, 2009 Turkey and Armenia signed the protocols in Zurich.
The Turkish parliament immediately ratified them. However, in Armenia
the protocols reached the parliament only after the decision of the
Constitutional Court. Ankara's reaction to the commentaries of the
Armenian court was negative, saying, "they have unacceptable
pre-conditions and restrictions", but it continued with the process.
