Tbilisi hosts Cherry Blossom Days

The traditional spring holiday "Cherry Blossom Days" takes place in Tbilisi. Guests have an opportunity to visit lectures, exhibitions and master classes.

The Tbilisi National Botanical Garden hosts special events in the framework of the Cherry Blossom Days, the press service of the Tbilisi City Hall informs.

Specially for the event, the cherry blossom collection in the Japanese Garden has reportedly been replenished with 25 new pink and white cherry seedlings.

The holiday began with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony led by Her Excellency Miyuki Imamura, wife of the Japanese Ambassador to Georgia.

There are also a bonsai collection of the Botanical Garden, an exhibition and sale of handicrafts, Japanese traditional clothing and works on Japanese themes made by young artists.

Guests can also participate in a master class on cooking sushi.
