Deputy Managing Director of National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) for drilling projects, Mehran Makvandi, said that 85% progress has been observed in drilling of 40 wells in the South Azadegan oilfield.
Makvandi made the remark in the course of the visit of the Managing Director of Iran's Oil Development and Engineering Company (ODEC) Shahnazi Zadeh.
He said eight heavy drilling rigs had been used for drilling wells in the South Azadegan oil field.
"Sixteen more wells of the collection of wells following final stages of drilling and five ones are drilled as one well drilling is on agenda," he added.
He said that up to so far, the field is drilled based on the schedule. Thus far 134,000 out of the target 150,000 meters have been drilling and the project is estimated to be complete by the next three months.
