A peaceful environmental action on the Khankendi-Lachin road started on December 12. For exactly three months, activists have been opposing the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in Azerbaijan, and also hindering the illegal use of the road.

An uninterrupted eco-action has been taking place for three months, its participants, despite the difficult weather conditions in the winter months, did not leave their post and continue drawing the international community's attention to the situation. Earlier, they told the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza about the successes and achievements of the event.

The Lachin road is open for humanitarian transportat: ICRC vehicles, convoys of the Russian peacekeeping mission, and the Armenian population of Karabakh pass through it regularly. In total, over 2,500 cars have driven along the road since the beginning of the action.

Representatives of foreign media, world travel bloggers visited the place of the action during this time. They saw with their own eyes the situation at the eco-action's site and in the region, and saw that the road is free.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted that the demand to stop the illegal exploitation of deposits is fair and expressed confidence that "eco-activists will not stop their honorable activities until all their demands are met". Eco-activists have repeatedly emphasized the peaceful nature of their protest, the action on the Lachin road is not a "blockade", which the Armenian side speaks of, and is not of a political nature. The participants want to stop ecological terror in Karabakh and preserve the region's rich natural resources for future generations.
