Adalbi Shhagoshev: Russia is the number one country in the fight against terrorism

Today Russia is the number country in the fight against international terrorism, member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Adalbi Shhagoshev, said to ‘Vestnik Kavkaza’ , commenting on the recent terrorist attacks in Germany.

"Certainly, nobody is immune to acts of terrorism, but I can say with confidence that Russia is the number one country in terms of the systematic fight against international terrorism. We are very well aware of how and where the international terrorism can emerge and act today. A special conference with the participation of representatives of the security services from 160 countries took place in St. Petersburg. We offered assistance to our colleagues there: the bank of international terrorist networks has been operating since 2008 and it is being updated all the time. In particular, now we are controlling over 220 potential suicide bombers,’’ he said.

The MP noted that there are no such information systems in the West. "The EU and the US is are doing it on a regular basis. Where are the same lists of potential suicide bombers in the EU or in the US? At the same time, Russia is systematically fighting against terror. It is adequate in making laws and taking real actions. In every region, including every region of the North Caucasus there is an anti-terrorist committee," the member of the Duma Committee on international Affairs pointed out.

According to him, since Russia took care of the top layer of the problem of the international terrorism by suppressing the activity of Daesh in Syria (this terrorist organization is banned in Russia), the terrorists changed their tactics.

"The European Union is a different story. They simply do not want to cooperate with us. It is necessary to fight against terrorism and cooperated with Asian and European countries,’’ the deputy urged.

Meanwhile, the West is unwilling to cooperate with Russia on this crucial issue. The ‘terrorist boomerang’ came back to the EU, he said. "The boomerang" was brought to life with the help of ill-considered support for terrorist activity in the Middle East. It cannot be stopped now. We have to think what will happen in the future and how to avoid making more mistakes,’’ Adalbi Shhagoshev concluded.
