Baku, Tbilisi, Astana and Ankara sign railway memorandum

The railway ministries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Georgia have agreed to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), the press service of Azerbaijan Railways said.

The head of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov, the president of Kazakhstan railways, Kanat Alpysbaev, the Director General of Turkish Railways shipping, Veysi Kurt and the chairman of Georgian Railways Mamuka Bakhtadze attended the meeting.

The sides exchanged views on development prospects of International Trans-Caspian Transport Route, increasing the volume of cargo transported on this route and issues on the optimization of tariffs.

A memorandum of understanding was signed at the end of the meeting, AzerTAc reports.
