Today is the fourteenth day of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Athletes will compete for 22 medal sets: boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, athletics, water polo, badminton, BMX, equestrian, synchronized swimming, modern pentathlon, football, field hockey and volleyball.
Russian Viktor Lebedev will wrestle Sandeep Tomar (India) in the weight category under 57 kg and Russian Aniuar Geduev will wrestle Bekzod Abdurakhmonov (Uzbekistan) in the weight category under 74 kg. Russian taekwondo fighter Albert Gaun will compete with Steven López (the US) in the weight category under 80 kg, while the bronze medalist of the London Olympics Anastasia Baryshnikova of Russia (67 kg) will fight against Rabia Güleç of Germany.
The men's and women's BMX semifinals will be also held today. Russia will be represented by female rider Yaroslava Bondarenko.
Russian boxer Misha Aloyan will fight Hu Jianguan (China) in the weight category under 52 kg in the semifinals and another Russian Vitaly Dunaytsev (64 kg) will fight Fazliddin Gaibnazarov (Uzbekistan).
The Russian national volleyball team will play against Brazilia at 04:15 MSK. Russian water polo players will play against Hungary at 17:20 MSK for the bronze medal.
Viktor Minibaev and Nikita Shleikher will perform in the women's 10 m platform qualifying round. In addition, the rhythmic gymnastics tournament will kick off today.
