Today is the date of the creation of the Ingush Autonomous Oblast, which was created on July 7, 1924. On this occasion, the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, addressed the citizens of the republic.
"Dear friends, today we celebrate an historic date – the 91st anniversary of the Ingush Autonomous Oblast. Idris Zyazikov, who led it for 10 years, and his companions were behind the creation of the Oblast," he reminded.
The head of the region noted that "the establishment of the statehood of the Ingush people was very difficult." "The thorny road of the Ingush people to restore their statehood was ended only in 1992, when the law "On the creation of the Republic of Ingushetia in the Russian Federation" was adopted," Yunus-bek Yevkurov said.
