Four Kyrgyz parties to form ruling coalition

The Kyrgyzstan, Onuguu (Progress) and Ata-Meken (Fatherland) parties agreed to the proposal of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan to join the coalition of the parliamentary majority of Kyrgyzstan. It is expected that the agreement will be signed on November 2nd, TASS reports.

According to the results of the elections held on October 4th, the political parties gained the following number of seats in Parliament: the Social Democratic Party – 38 seats, Republic-Ata-Jurt – 28 seats, Kyrgyzstan – 18 seats, Onuguu (Progress) – 13 seats, Bir-Bol – 12 seats, Ata-Meken – 11 seats.

None of the parties received more than half of the votes, so they have to create a ruling coalition to nominate the prime minister, to form the government. Yesterday Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev officially asked the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) to create a ruling coalition.
