GCC Secretary General arrives in Tbilisi

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani arrived in Georgia. His visit will last until February 16.

Al-Zayani will hold meetings with the Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, the Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the chairman of parliament Irakli Kobakhidze and the Foreign Minister Mikhail Janelidze.

"They will discuss issues of cooperation in various fields between Georgia and the GCC countries," Sputnik Georgia cited the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying.
It is also planned to sign a memorandum of understanding between the diplomatic agencies of Georgia and the General Secretariat of the GCC.

The Gulf Cooperation Council was founded in 1981. Its member states are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Its activities cover the fields of politics, economy, defense, security, information, culture, health and education.
