The Georgian Military road connecting Russia with the countries of the South Caucasus is closed to all vehicles due to the threat of avalanche.
The Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for North Ossetia reported that the road was closed at 23:00 Moscow time on January 15.
The Gudauri-Kobi road section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi route, Agenda.ge reported.
The Road Department of Georgia said that there is a snowstorm and low visibility.
Vehicles from the village of Mleta, Dusheti municipality of eastern Georgia, will be allowed to move only in a non-stop regime. The restriction will be removed from the 86th section of the Mleta-Gudauri road. Patrol police are on scene to regulate traffic.
