Hungarian Wizz Air opens base in Kutaisi

Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air opened its 25th base at Kutaisi International Airport. This was the airline’s first base in the country and the region.

Opening the airline base at Georgia’s second largest airport was expected to increase passengers flow into and out of the country, as the airline offered several new flight destinations.

From Georgia, Wizz Air will fly to seven European cities: Berlin, Munich and Dortmund in Germany, Milan in Italy, Salonika in Greece, Larnaca in Cyprus and Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.

Meanwhile Wizz Air started flying to Kutaisi International Airport in 2012. Since then more than 600,000 passengers have flown with Wizz Air. Last year alone Wizz Air carried more than 125,000 passengers from Georgia, Agenda.ge reports.
