Iraq's UN Ambassador: negotiations on withdrawal of Turkish troops are successful

Iraq's UN Ambassador Mohamed Ali al-Hakim said about negotiations with Turkey on the withdrawal of Turkish troops from the Iraqi territory.

"We are solving it between Baghdad and Ankara bilaterally," he noted, adding that it's going extremely well. The diplomat pointed out that Baghdad has not yet escalated it to the Security Council.

The Permanent Representative of Turkey in the UN, Halit Cevik, also said that Ankara and Baghdad are able to resolve the conflict through a dialogue. According to him, Iraq and Turkey are "two independent states."
