The chairman of the Turkish opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, told the Euronews TV channel that the operation against the terrorist group Islamic State in Syria is necessary.
According to him, "IS definitely needs to be silenced." "We totally can’t accept IS becoming a neighbor on our borders," Kilicdaroglu emphasized, adding that, if necessary, "military operations should be on the table." The politician said that the CHP is in favor of its implementation. However, he said only that "with or without Assad peace should come to Syria."
Kilicdaroglu noted that Ankara has received nothing more than applause from the European Union, when more two million refugees came to Turkey. "Europe only understood the importance of the work Turkey was undertaking when refugees started arriving there," RIA Novosti reports.
The leader of the CHP connects the solution to the migration crisis in Europe with the end of the Syrian opposition. “There needs to be a rapid end to the internal conflict in Syria and the wrecked cities down there need to be re-built. We should allow Syrians to return to their own country," he said.
