Kerry describes Khamenei's remarks as troubling

US Secretary of State John Kerry described Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s remarks, who promised to challenge the United States, as very disturbing.

Kerry said in the interview with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television that he "doesn't know how to interpret it at this point in time". "But if it is the policy, it's very disturbing, it's very troubling," TASS cited Kerry as saying.

Last Saturday, the Iranian supreme leader said that "the Islamic Republic will never bow to the enemy’s excessive demands". He also noted that "Tehran's policy in the Middle East is fundamentally different from Washington's policy", and "Iran will never change its position on Syria, Lebanon and Iraq."
