Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that President Bashar al-Assad is still the legitimate head of state.
"Now they are trying to put al-Assad's resignation at the center of all the actions in Syria to eliminate Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi. But he is perfectly legitimate," Lavrov added.
Foreign Minister believes that Assad's resignation will have a negative impact on the fight against terrorism, TASS reports.
