Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States plans to buy portable air-defense systems and weapons in an Eastern European country and send them close to Venezuela’s border.
It looks like the U.S. is considering a military intervention in Venezuela, Lavrov said during a press conference with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez. "In this scenario, Washington would be buying arms in Eastern Europe and sending them via cargo plane to locations near Venezuela’s borders," RT cited the Russian minister as saying.
Russia’s top diplomat added that Venezuela’s neighbors Brazil and Colombia are against U.S. military intervention, voicing hope that it "would cool the hot heads in Washington."
