Russian Security Council secretary Nikolai Patrushev and the assistant of spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on international affairs, Ali Akbar Velayati, discussed bilateral military and technical cooperation and the Syria situation.
"The sides discussed some aspects of strengthening bilateral economic relations in the energy, military and technical spheres," the press service of the Security Council said.
"Nikolai Patrushev and Ali Akbar Velayati discussed the prospects of the Russian-Iranian interaction in ensuring regional and international security, the situation in Syria and in the Middle East as a whole," TASS cited the press service as saying.
