Cooperation between Russia and Iran on the Syrian settlement has brought relations between the two countries to a new level, the presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Cooperation on the Syrian affairs has added a new dimension which obviously helped raise the level," he noted.
"Let us not forget that these relations have never been stopped, have never been frozen," he said. "Russia has never stopped cooperation with Tehran, so it would be wrong to speak about any new regimes [of cooperation after lifting sanctions off Iran and the beginning of the Syrian operation]," TASS cited the presidential spokesman as saying.
"We have been persistently developing friendly relations with Iran," Peskov stressed.
