The presidential election is a very important socio-political, state event in the life of each country that determines the development of the country in the coming years, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said at the plenary session at the Moscow State University of Humanities and Economics, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports.
"Among other things, elections determine the political atmosphere in the country, which is undoubtedly created by presidents in our countries now. This tradition, this election is a new phenomenon for our countries, both for Russia and Azerbaijan, because there were no elections before the Soviet Union. Then we lived in the Soviet Union, but even if there was election, the leaders were elected by the members of the Communist Party. This model of democratic election of leaders and presidents is quite new by historical standards, the period of 25-27 years is not that long. But, nevertheless, elections have already become part of the life of our societies, our countries, our peoples. And each time there is a wider understanding of the importance, the necessity of the election, when the people chooses its leader," Polad Bulbuloglu said.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Russia recalled those times when we all lived in one country, which capital was Moscow, noting that he feels quite passionate about Russia's development. "Of course, I have no right as an ambassador today to impose my opinion and even talk about it, but I think that it is my duty to call everyone to attend the election. You are free to make your choice. Eight candidates were announced today, each of them has own platform, ideas, speeches. The candidates have the opportunity to express their claims to the current government. And every citizen of the country has the right to vote. But I am sure that the wise Russian people, the citizens of Russia will make a right choice. I think the choice is obvious. I do not want to name any names, I emphasize it once again. But I think that the Russian people will say its word at this elections," the diplomat noted.
"There are relations of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Russia. We can say that our relations are developing very well in all the areas - economy, culture, humanitarian sphere, our trade is growing. We are friendly countries, and we want Russia to develop successfully. I am sure that the wise Russian people will make the right choice. Everyone go to the polls. I wish you success!"
