Putin congratulates Obama on US Independence Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated President Barack Obama on US Independence Day. The head of the Russian state expressed confidence that Russia and the US can resolve complicated international problems to confront global threats.

"Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that by building a dialogue based on the principles of equality and respect of mutual interests, Russia and the United States can resolve the most acute international issues and effectively counter global threats and challenges," RIA Novosti cited the press service of the Kremlin as saying.
