Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has congratulated his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu on the victory of the Justice and Development Party in the elections to the Turkish Grand National Assembly. He also confirmed that he will visit Turkey in the near future.
During a telephone conversation, Tsipras pointed to the necessity to preserve diplomatic channels between Athens and Ankara, especially taking into consideration regional problems, such as the influx of refugees arriving in Greece through Turkish territory, RIA Novosti reports.
Davutoglu's invitation was accepted during the telephone conversation. “The dates of the visit are being investigated, a visit will be made in the near future,” the press service of the prime minister said.
