Turkish prosecutors hide in Armenia

Turkish prosecutors Zekeriya Oz and Celal Kara, who are being charged with supporting the Fethullah Gulen movement and organizing illegal gangs, are hiding in Armenia, the Anadolu Agency reports with reference to the governor of the Turkish province of Artvin, Kemal Cirit.

Oz and Kara, using the territory of Georgia, fled to Armenia, where they are today, Trend cited the the governor as saying.

Turkish police held special operations in Istanbul and Ankara on 17 December 2013, resulting in the arrests of several dozen people. The detainees were accused of corruption, smuggling and selling drugs.
Ten people, including businessmen and the sons of some ministers, were arrested during special the operation by police on 17 December 2013. But in February 2014 the Turkish Prosecutor’s Office made a decision to release the detainees.
