A Turkish soldier was killed during a counter-terrorism operation against militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the town of Erciş in the province of Van, an army source said.
The Turkish military officer was killed in a shooting near the house where the terrorist shelter was found. The anti-terrorist operation is still ongoing, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Anadolu agency.
