Representatives of western media, leaving Azerbaijan, told Vestnik Kavkaza about their impressions of the organization of the First European Games in Baku.

Richard Heathcote, a photographer from Getty Images, said that he liked the organization of the European Games. "The work was done well and everything went pretty smoothly. I had no problems with either the media village or transport," he said. Heathcote said that the last time he was in Baku was 15 years ago, and since then the city has changed a lot.

Irish journalist Mark Staniforth highly praised the organization of the media work at the Games. "And Baku is an amazing city. I've spent three weeks here. I liked everything. The people are very friendly. The city has many places of interest and the food is just wonderful," Staniforth said.

Rob Moul, a journalist from the Sunday Times, drew attention to the high level of security provided by the organizers to media workers. "There weren't any problems in covering the Games. The games were good, and that means that their organization has been carried out at a high level," Moul said.

According to him, Azerbaijan has done everything possible to start a new tradition of continental competitions, and now the future of the European Games will depend on the successors of Baku. "I think that the Games deserve to be included in the calendar of world sports events," Rob Moul concluded.
