Kazakh oil and gas equipment makers are ready to cooperate with near abroad

The creation of joint-ventures or alliances, primarily with well-known
manufacturers from former Soviet republics is important for the
development of Kazakh oil and gas equipment production, a KazMunayGaz
spokesman told VK.

He believes that joint ventures will allow nearby republics to enter
the Kazakh market. Azerbaijan, Tatarstan, and Bashkiria specialized in
the production of oil and gas equipment and engineering, even the
Soviet times, Bolat Tashmetov said.

The issue has been raised for several years at the level of
intergovernmental commissions between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, but
so far there have been no agreements.

The diplomat also said that there is an oil platform factor belonging
to Heydar Aliyev operating in Baku.

The Kazakh government took firm measures against the discrimination of
its domestic manufacturers. KazMunayGaz (KMG),which is supervising the
most profitable sphere, is carrying out special accounting.

Today KMG is opening the way for domestic companies to its oil and gas
sector by increasing the purchases of Kazakh products and services.
But most investments are allotted for large oil projects and foreign
manufacturers. The solution of the problem is creating alliances
between Kazakh and international companies.
