The task in relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye is to increase the trade turnover to $5 billion a year, Turkish Ambassador to Tashkent Olgan Bekar said.

He noted that even after the start of the coronavirus pandemic, trade between Türkiye and Uzbekistan showed good dynamics. According to him, in 2021 this level exceeded $3,6 billion, and this figure remained the same in 2022.

The ambassador stressed that now both countries are striving to increase this figure to $5 billion in the short term, and to $10 billion in the medium term.

The latest data from the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan for January-February of this year showed that mutual trade reached $547,7 million (an increase of 5,7%) compared to last year's figures, when the level was $518,1.
