Oleg Kazanov, the head of Rosnedra, stated that last year, Russian oil producers successfully compensated for the oil volumes generated through the geological exploration of new reserves. He highlighted that 0.49 billion tons of oil were prepared for production throughout the year.
Overall, Kazanov indicated that Russia's commercial oil reserves are projected to grow by 0.67 billion tons by 2025, although around 180 million tons are still in the preparation phase for production.
As a reminder, Russia's oil production last year was around 0.52 billion tons.
Additionally, the head of Rosnedra provided an update on gas exploration activities for the year, indicating that 650 billion cubic meters are prepared for extraction, while another 29 billion cubic meters have been explored and are currently in development, as reported by RIA Novosti.
At the same time, in 2025, Russia produced approximately 685 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
