According to data for the first quarter, the flow of Russians visiting Georgia for various purposes this year has decreased compared to last year's figures, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
In January-March, Russian citizens made 281.5 thousand entries into Georgia. The number of visitors is 5.6% lower than at the beginning of 2023, when the number of visits amounted to approximately 300 thousand. It is also 19% lower than at the end of 2023. The number of Russians leaving Georgia has also decreased.
Russians remain the leaders among foreign visitors, the Georgian ministry notes. In addition to this, many visitors come to the country from Türkiye and Armenia.
Despite the decrease in the number of entries made by Russians, the foreign flow to Georgia in the first quarter of this year was 7.7% higher than last year's data. It exceeded 1.23 million entries.
