The Free Historical Society, founded in 2014, has organized its first conference, at which the activities of the society were outlined, as well as information about the scheduled opening of the site was announced. At the end of the event a resolution "On historical policy, social memory and the tasks of the FHS" was adopted.
Its main goal is to "contribute to the establishment of a professional community of historians, which is part of civil society and the dissemination of scientific ideas about the past, the role and tasks of historical science in modern society."
The society also attaches great importance to the establishment of high standards of scientific research, in particular qualifying works, the promotion of careers of young researchers, international cooperation and promotion of Russian and world achievements in the socio-humanitarian sphere.
The Free Historical Society, among other things, plans to combat the falsification of historical facts and sources.
The participants of the conference approved the activities of the founders and the board of the Free Historical Society in last year and approved those for next year.
