The Kyrgyz authorities have taken a number of measures to strengthen the protection of the Tajik border because of growing tensions in the country, the head of the Kyrgyz State Border Service's Department of Public Relations, Gulmira Borubaeva said.
Also, border guards in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have begun to actively exchange operational information. Bishkek continues to "monitor the situation in the neighboring Tajik areas," TASS reports.
