Moscow gets new opportunities for cooperation with Tehran after the conclusion of international agreements on the Iranian nuclear problem, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told Egyptian daily Al-Ahram.

"Russia and Iran have long-standing friendly relations. And now when a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear deal has been reached in Vienna, it has opened up new opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation," he noted.

He reminded that "Russia has always insisted that the situation around the Iranian nuclear deal can only have a political and diplomatic solution".

"We believe that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action will not only help restore normal economic and political contacts between Iran and the international community, but will also ensure peace and stability in the Middle East.
