While anti-government protests are winding down in Iran, they continue in Armenia: opponents of the Islamic Republic once again gathered in front of the Iranian embassy in Yerevan, demanding a change of government in the neighboring country.

Today, a protest against the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran took place in Yerevan. Participants gathered outside the Iranian embassy in the Armenian capital with slogans against the current Iranian authorities.

According to Armenian media, Iranian emigrants allegedly participated in the protest. They were carrying placards with a message addressed to US President Donald Trump, "President Trump, act immediately," and flags of the Shah's dynasty featuring a lion and sun.

Since the protest had not been approved by city authorities, police detained 7 activists, including the organizer, and demanded that the protesters cease their illegal activity. Police also prevented the march towards the Blue Mosque.
