Members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries plan to meet with other producers in Russia on March 20, Bloomberg reports with reference to Nigeria's Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu.
He noted that "oil prices are recovering very slowly." "But if the meeting of OPEC producers and non-OPEC countries on March 20 will take place, there will be a dramatic price movement," Interfax cited him as saying.
Earlier, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that over 15 countries have already publicly expressed readiness to freeze the oil production.
