On March 1, the Year of Rasul Gamzatov will officially start in Makhachkala. The Russian Theater will host events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national poet of Dagestan.
The musical and poetic performance, "My Dagestan. Our Rasul" at the Russian Theater of Makhachkala will officially mark the beginning of the year of Rasul Gamzatov on March 1.
In addition to the performance, the Theater will present a film about the greatest Dagestan poet, as well as performances, songs, and dances of the peoples of the republic.
Also, an exhibition of portraits of the poet from the fund of the Museum of Fine Arts and a book exhibition from the fund of the National Library of Dagestan will open in the lobby of the building.
The 100th anniversary of the birth of Rasul Gamzatov will be celebrated this year. The decree on the celebration was signed by President Vladimir Putin on July 1, 2021.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that events to mark the birthday of the national poet of Dagestan would be held in Azerbaijan.
